Ich versuche, ein Dreirad zu bauen und daran einen Elektromotor anzubauen. Ich habe für einen Lieferanten (ich lebe in Australien) über Alibaba und Aliexpress recherchiert. Hat jemand eine Empfehlung für einen Lieferanten? Oder hat das schon mal jemand gemacht?

Actually, I'm looking for something that I can use to transport my two primary school children in the front. Just like in the Netherlands. So two wheels in the back and one in the front with a large tub with seats.

So I figured something with an axle would be more appropriate?

There was no need for using Software because every parameter of the controller is shown on the display and easy to set with the buttons

Finally I bought:

and it is fine for me until now.

To build cargo bikes is a stronger challenge. Triple wheels with only one front wheel would easily crash to the side in curves. You have to put the load in the back of the bike on the rear axle to stabilize it. Nevertheless this construction could be realized cheap and without special knowledge about building bicycles. I thought over building a cargo bike too, but stopped because of my nickname. A reference triple wheel cargo bike with two 500w motors in steered front wheels with 1000w motor in the rear wheel and full suspension, would take me one year to make it perfect.

For configuring the driving unit have to calculate the maximum weight, the estimated rolling resistance of the tires and the topography. Depending on your charging management you can determine the needed performance data of the electric motor or motors, controller and battery. I would recommend to put 25-35% reserve on power and capacity to be happy with the construction.
