Talk Audi MMI MIB3 / MHI3 / MPR3, Map FW POI Updates - Talk Fragen

Hi
Audi MPR3_ER_AU_P4318 looking for update
Currently running on p3853. Would any one share update file p4318 ?

Yes I did this update.
I currently have the MPR3_ER_AU_P4026 installed on my Q8
The same vehicle already has a newer version -> MPR3_ER_AU_P4318
According to the dealer, there's nothing newer available - in my opinion, he hasn't even checked or had anything checked.
MPR3_ER_AU_P4397_MU4397 is available.

Here you go. Make sure you are on one of the software trains to update:

P35*, P36*, P37*, P38*, P439*

Changes i noticed so far:
  • AA and CP now send information to the Virtual Cockpit. You get the navigation information shown as Icon in the Dashboard and in the Head-Up-Display.
  • Visual improvements of the MMI
  • Speech recognition is way better and feels reworked by a lot
  • AA and CP are very stable now

Hi,

i currently have MPR3_US_AU_P4318, need to convert to europe, is it enough if i flash MPR3_ER_AU_P4318? where can i find the files

or can i flash the above megaupload? P4397?

thanks

This will require more work and is very complicated and will maybe not be a free solution. There are custom firmwares around but people do not give them for free

As i said it is simply more work than you can do with any tool.

Hallo

Hello,
to all. Newbie here.
Reading a lot last few days about updating the MMI to latest version. What I loose if I don't have red menu? It is not like the green menu in previous generation, nothing can be done there, except to view the geko codes and to update. Does this update fix the SOS error ? Can I make it if external amp/bang olufsen low is installed?
Several times in this topic someone ask for step by step guide, do you have it ? If not is that correct.

1. Get USB drive. Format it to FAT32.
2. Write all files from .7z
3. Rename files auto.....
4. Get it car and stick drive in possition 1
5. Start the update
6. Finish update.

Thank you !

Updating to the latest version will remove the red menu, meaning you won’t be able to update without ODIS afterward. (Renaming files to "auto" may work, but this hasn’t been tested yet.) However, it’s possible to re-enable the FEC codes in the gateway unit—tools like VCTool can help restore the red menu. This means every future update will require a few extra steps.

If you previously had SOS errors, resolve them before updating; otherwise, you may encounter additional issues during the update process. The latest update also includes changes to the communication module, which can fail if there are error codes stored in the unit.

You can update using EA/BO, but you might need to reconfigure parameters afterward. This hasn’t been an issue for me, but it could happen depending on your setup. For MIB3 units, use NTFS formatting.

The step-by-step procedure is correct as described. Renaming files to "auto" is optional if you still have access to the red menu.

My SOS is not permanent. It happens sometimes and disappear in 10-20 minutes.
I do not have ODIS or VCTool. I have tried to and succeeded to update the system once from P33*to P36*, triyng to activate Android Auto Wireless - unsuccessfully. However local boys helped with it at the end :). There was no need for FEC re-enablement then. So If I need to re-enable FEC will ask them for help.

I see that for only 1 year there is several updates rolled- on. Which is unexpectedly a lot. I can try waiting for 6 more mounts if you think there will be much greater improvement in future.
EA/BO are these parameters datasets? or Coding for external amp in main unit? When updated 1st time I got no problems with this, so I expect no problems with this one.

There is a tool that I got from MIBSolution that formats the USB drive to 32GBFAT.

Occasional errors with the emergency call system can occur when reception is impaired. If there is no reception, an error will be reported, but this is not an issue for an update. FEC activation is only required from version 43** onwards, meaning after the update—versions before that do not have the Red Menu lock enabled. Currently, it can be assumed that, for example, version 4397 already includes all planned features, so no significant improvements will follow after that. After an update, it is possible to lose your parameters and have to re-import them; however, I have not personally experienced this, and it is rare. The Audi TSB information specifies NTFS as the required file system. FAT is incorrect and not supported.
