Support fritzbox + torrent ?

The Fritzbox supports various file systems for USB sticks and external hard drives, but not all of them are recognized correctly in every function (e.g., in Freetz). Here’s an overview of the supported file systems:

1. Officially Supported File Systems by AVM

These file systems are recognized in the Fritzbox menu and can be managed there:

  • FAT/FAT32 → Supported by default but has limitations (max. 4 GB file size).
  • NTFS → Supported, good for large files, but slower than ext4.
  • ext2/ext3/ext4 → Better for Linux-based systems, especially recommended for write operations.
  • HFS+ (without journaling) → Mainly for macOS users, but less common.

2. Possible Issues with Freetz

  • Freetz is Linux-based → Using a file system like NTFS or HFS+ may cause issues.
  • ext4 with certain options → If ext4 is formatted with specific journaling options, it might not be recognized in the Freetz menu.
  • USB stick or HDD not properly unmounted → If the file system is marked as faulty, it may not appear in Freetz.

3. What to do?

  • If the drive is recognized in the AVM menu but not in Freetz:
    • Try formatting it as FAT32 or ext4 (without journaling).
    • Check with lsblk -f or blkid on the command line.
    • Manually mount it using mount /dev/sdX /var/media/ftp/....

I did format different external hdd to ext2 as there is no journaling, and no luck, it's seen in avm menu not in freetz. I give up, at stage I have restored and loaded countless times different firmware's to 2x 7590 and 5x 7530 all have same effect I'm simply gutted :/ have tested at least half a dosen pendrives and good few different HDD's .

7590 hier ist noch mal ein Image von heute zum testen. ... here is another image from today to test.
Vielleicht kann jemand dieses Image mal testen und berichten, ob ein USB-Stick oder Festplatte in Freetz angezeigt wird.

Will load tomorrow and report back.

So I have made video this time, you can see how it is available in AVM and not in feetz, it's your firmware from yesterday, it realy makes no changes if I set all settings to on in AVM menu I can chose ftp smb and so all switched and checked and unchecked, end result is always same no device present in freetz menu.

Yes I did on multiple occasions, as well as restoring to factory via recovery from AVM, I have tried everything possible action and any direction I can do to no avail. I would understand if I have issue with one fritz but all of them behave exact same way, so it's not possible for hardware fault or usb as tested many in different ways. I have some old 7430 I will test on it hdd's if i be able to recover pass for freetz menu :/

Edit was able to find pass and hdd works no problems same as other flash drives, connected and bam is there. So what ever it is it's with current firmware or some librarys as there is no other way.

ometimes you do something wrong, and suddenly it works perfectly. Congratulations on your project!
Working now :D

@SaMMyMaster You are true genius, those are the settings all working perfect and mounted, by default those settings are not checked and that's whole issue.

Thank you so much for all help ;)(y)
