Hallo,
welche Dateien benötigt man für das Garmin-Navi im Fiat Freemont UConnect-System und welche Kartengröße ist möglich?

Kann man die im System vorhandene Karte irgendwie sichern?

Kann man mittels USB darauf zugreifen?
Wenn ja anhand er nüvi 1xxx 2xxx 3xxx FAQ mal abgleichen ob es da Übereinstimmungen gibt.

Wenn es sich eher an Link ist nicht mehr aktiv.anlehnt gibt es aktuell keine Möglichkeiten mit Karten im Garmin Standartformat.
Wenn eher mit Kenwood verwand könnten Chancen bestehen.

Man kann via USB zugreifen, da man von Chrysler offiziell zur Verfügung gestellte Updates der Navi-Software auch einspielen kann; habe ich bereits erfolgreich durchgeführt.
Laut Beitrag in einem anderen Forum benötigt man drei Dateien:

- gmapprom.img

- gmap3d.img

- gmaptz.img

Angeblich wäre das Navi kompatibel zu 3490 oder 3590.
Für weitere Infos über Vorgehensweise etc. wird dann auf dieses Forum hier verwiesen.

Wenn es ein nüvi 3xxxx ist würden mehr AddItons benötigt. Das obere ist die Karte und die nächste Datei die 3D Gebäude. Es müsste doch auch noch mindestens die JCV Kreuzungsbilder geben?
Die dritte Datei ist die Zeitzonenkarte, welche über den WebUpdater autom. bei Bedarf aktualisiert wird.

Gut die aktuellen Karten sind im Straßenkartenthread oben angepinnt. Zusätzlich noch die nüvi FAQ lesen. Vor dem Überschreiben der alten Dateien Sicherheitskopie nicht vergessen.

Mein Problem ist, dass ich ja nicht sehe, welche Dateien vorhanden sind, da die (einseitige) Kommunikation mit dem System via USB-Stick funktioniert.

Ich denke auch, dass man weitere Dateien wie z.B. für den Fahrspurassistenten braucht.
Zudem ist unklar, wie ein Kartenupdate durchgeführt wird. USB-Stick mit Verzeichnis Garmin und den Dateien drin, reinstecken und Update startet?
So jedenfalls laufen die Betriebssystemupdates von Chrysler für Radio und Navi.

Eine Sicherheitskopie würde ich ja gerne machen, aber wie?

Ich habe jetzt den Kenwood Support Thread durchgelesen. Anscheinend kann man da einen PC an die USB-Buchse anschließen und Dateien hin und her kopieren.
Ob das beim Fiat/Chrysler-System auch klappt weiß ich nicht. Für einen Versuch fehlt mir das spezielle USB-Kabel (A-A).
Das Einspielen von benutzerdefinierten POIs ist laut Fiat-Anleitung jedenfalls per DVD möglich, über Karten-Updates steht da nichts.

Ich habe jetzt mal mein Notebook via A-A - USB-Kabel mit dem System verbunden. Leider gibt es aber keine Reaktion, d.h. es erscheint weder ein neues Laufwerk im Notebook noch kommt irgend eine Meldung wie "neue Hardware gefunden" oder ähnliches. Auch das UConnect-System reagiert überhaupt nicht.

Ich habe einen Dodge Charger mit einem RB5. Ich konnte die 2015.20 Karten istallieren.

1-Copy the Garmindevice.xml from the nuvi onto your USB stick to the folder Garmin/
2-Run Garmin Express
3-Download CN NT 2015.20 NA update
4-Garmin Express will download the files to the USB stick in folder .system/, keep only the following files/folders:
.system/ASR (folder+contents): *******0.SRX to *******3.ASR (only the first 4 sequential files)
.system/gmapprom.img
.system/GMAPTZ.IMG
5-Rename .system/ to Garmin/
6-Create Garmin/JCV (folder)
7-Download: 2015.20 Full Size JCV

Sie müssen registriert sein, um Links zu sehen.

and put it in JCV folder (this download is not required if your Nuvi version downloads the Full Screen JCV by default)
8-Put car in run mode (with engine on or not)
9-Turn all unnecessary features off (i.e. A/C)
10-Leave your radio on (needed to recognize a USB is plugged in)
11-Goto the Navigation screen
12-Plug USB stick into vehicle, it will start Validating the USB stick
13-When the update prompts, follow the menus, when it askes for an unlock code, use JetMouse (usage not explained here)
14-Let the system update (1-1.5hr process, if engine is not on, the car will shutdown half way through the process, you will need to put it back in run mode immediately, so ensure you stay with the car if you do not have the engine on)
15-Once it reaches 100%/full completion bar: It will either give a maps updated successfully message or reflash failed message. Just verify that the maps loaded fine, but you should be GTG.



CTP13

8-Put car in run mode (with engine on or not)
9-Turn all unnecessary features off (i.e. A/C)
10-Leave your radio on (needed to recognize a USB is plugged in)
11-Goto the Navigation screen
12-Plug USB stick into vehicle, it will start Validating the USB stick

Hallo Forum, hallo mike,

auch wenn ich hier alte Topics ausgrabe: um die Frage für alle zu beantworten: Ja, das Vorgehen ist identisch, egal welche Karten verwendet werden.
Ich empfehle sich bei Google in den englischen Boards dazu schlau zu machen. Da ich nicht weiß ob es hier zulässig ist auf andere Foren zu verweisen poste ich hier keine Direktlinks.
Die RadioNav Einheit ist ja weitestgehend identisch mit solchen die im Dodge Journey verbaut sind.
Entscheidend sind wohl welche Version verbaut ist (RB4 / RB5) und welche CTP läuft (siehe auch Paddels Post), was denke ich vom Baujahr des Freemont abhängig ist.
Scheinbar sind die Radios sehr störanfällig was die USB-Sticks angeht, es wird beschrieben das mit einigen Sticks kein Update wegen wiederholter Abbrüche möglich war, mit anderen Sticks dann trotz identischer Daten schon. Wenn es nicht klappt mal mit einem anderem Stick probieren. Die DVDs zum Update sollten laufen, ohne Probleme.

Hallo Zusammen, wir sind nun auch stolzer Besitzer eines Freemont Loung mit CTP13, leider mit den Karten von 2012.
ich habe aus "Angebote maps - City Navigator Europe NT 2017.20" die gmap3d.img und gmapprom.img heruntergeladen, auf einen USB Stick in das Garmin Verzeichniss gepackt.

Zuerst wird ein Update erkannt und versucht dieses zu laden ... nach ca 10-15 Sekunden kommt eine Fehlermeldung und ich soll mich mit dem Service in Verbindung setzen.

Ich denke, dass irgendwelche Dateien fehlen ... Gibts einen der ein CTP13 oder CTP14 im Freemont aktualisiert hat und mir eine Anleitung liefern kann?

Schau mal ins amerikanische chargerforum, da gibt es eine ausführliche Beschreibung. Hauptkriterium wird ein funktionierender USB-Stick sein, da ist der Freemont eine Diva.
Verwenden kannst du NT und NTU Kartenmaterial. NTU nicht mehr die neue geteilte Version. Glaub ab 2017.30.
Software darf nicht über CTP13 sein. Drübergeht nix mehr. Downgrade von einer höheren Version ist aber möglich.
