Hello everyone. I am intending to set up an OScam server as a personal project. I own an Enigma 2 box (Vu+) and I ordered the Omnikey 3121 reader. I will also be purchasing a smart card along with the corresponding CI+ CAM module. The goal is to have my laptop act as an OScam server that would provide CS to my Vu+. I found instructions for setting up an OScam server on Linux, so I'll use a virtual machine on my mac. I would like to note that I'm intending to use the server in my local network only, I'm not interested in exposing the server to the internet. In summary, this is how I would expect things to work:
  • set up the server on my mac
  • make the server read the card using the card reader
  • add the client (my Vu+) to the server
  • put the C line in my receiver
  • start watching
However, I'm already seeing issues with my plan. The smart card will probably be paired with the CI+ module. In that case, the Omnikey is useless, right? Should I've gotten a reader with a CI+ slot? Or could maybe the Unicam Prime be helpful in this scenario? I want to note that this is the first time I'm trying something like this, but I'm willing to learn.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The first point is, that oscam cannot communicate with CI[+] modules.
So, if the card is paired with a module and valid CWs cannot be read with an oscam supported reader like Omnikey 3121 then you have no chance to share the card with oscam.

Which provider is this actually?

Well that's a bummer. So in order to share a card, it mustn't be paired with the CI module, got it. I guess that's why sharing is nowadays dead compared to like 5-6 years ago? Would it work if I used another E2 receiver as a server? The Unicam would also not be helpful in my case? I was planning on purchasing a digitalb or HD+ card.

A german HD+ card can be shared with oscam and is not paired with any module.

The omnikey 3121 can work. As I remember the reader has a fix frequncy with 450Mhz. That can may be a problem. You habe to try.

In the past no card or only less cards were paired. That changes until now.

An E2 receiver is not working for sharing because in case of using a CI module you have no CW to share.

Alright, so a HD+ card would be the way to go. What about packages that have smart cards paired to the CI module, but were still available through sharing? I remember people watching digitalb and MAXtv (both on 16E) a couple of years ago with a C line. Were those cards/modules exploited using knowledge that is not released to the public? Could you explain the purpose of a Unicam module? Thanks for your answers.

Edit:
I now have a working Linux OScam server. The Omnikey should arrive in a couple of days and in the meantime, I was able to acquire a smart card along its CI module. However, it's not HD+, it's MAXtv. If I understood correctly (by reading discussions on the forum), to get the card working, I "only" need to extract RSA and Box keys. Let me guess, doing this is difficult and it's not really public knowledge? Does anyone have any useful (if possible non-dead) links or advice?
