Hi

Hard drive in my MMI 3GP has crashed/died. It is an Toshiba MK4036GAC 40GB drive and there is plenty of them on ebay. If I put a new one in my MMI does the MMI make partitions by its self, or do I need to do it?

well you have a big problem.

do you have any backups of your old drive ?

i am not a professional but i am sure you has no chance to reapair it.

MMI works normally, only maps and speech are missing because they are stored on hdd. I can reinstall maps.

its a lot more. each car with mmi3g has a personal activation there are several more things to fix it when you install a new hard drive.

i read some cracks did backups of their hard drives an install them to a ssd. but i am sure you need a backup of your hdd and when it is broken you have the problem you cant fix it.

I'm not concerned about the activation, I can do firmware update, reinstall the maps and activate them. My only concern is would the new clean hdd recognised by mmi. There is an option in green menu the reset navi, jukebox and speech to factory settings so maybe mmi creates the partitions by itself.

Hallo,

Ich bitte um Hilfe von jemandem hier.. ich habe etwas falsch gemacht.. kein MMI jetzt…Auto ist ein A7 MMI 3GP, Bj 2012.

Nach einem kompletten Navi Update Process ist mein Bildschirm dunkel
und der Display kommt nicht aus, die Bedienungstasten funktionieren nicht.
Kann jemand mir vielleicht helfen ?
Ich habe gelesen ich müsste mein PC mit Ubuntu dem HDD anschliessen.
Wie musste ich das tun ,kann jemand mir vielleicht die Methode erklären? Was für ein Kabel brauche ich zum Anschliessen?
Vielen Dank für alle Hilfe!
Ich bin sehr ratlos zur Zeit und habe Hoffnungen dass mein MMI Main unit noch OK wird und kein neues kaufen muss.

Mach das Auto stromlos für 10 Minuten hat auch schön geholfen
