I also needed a couple of attempts before it worked. So don't give up!

I did the following:
1) Went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Digital-Eliteboard\PETKA\Program and took a copy of the folder 8.8 .... named it 8.8_save. Just in order to have a backup.
2) Downloaded the archive "PATCH ETKA 8.8 UPDATE 1620" provided by glavanesti in post #1264 (page 85). It contains 3 files. Copied these files to the 8.8\PROG1 folder.
3) started PETKA and checked that version now says 8.9
4) executed the usual update procedure, database + prices, which brought my update state from 1619 --> 1622, with no complaints about version being too old.

The guys in here have done an excellent job in making things as easy as possible. At least for me it worked out fine
