I own a 2020 VW Polo GTI with the OEM MIB3 infotainment system. I’ve linked my official Volkswagen ID (WeConnect ID) to the car and successfully created a user profile on the infotainment head unit. The VW ID shows as connected in the app/portal, and I have even logged in at the car to create the profile. However, the system still shows me as a Guest user and never makes me the “Primary User.”
I’m not seeing any option or prompt to become primary, and the car won’t let me switch the profile status. I have already tried several things without success:
Despite all that, the car still only lists a guest profile and refuses to assign me as the primary driver.
- Logging out of the WeConnect/MyVW app and re-adding my vehicle by VIN.
- Resetting the MIB3 infotainment system to factory defaults and re-linking the VW ID.
- Toggling all privacy/location settings in the car (disable “max privacy,” enable “Share my position” mode) as VW support documents suggest .
- Ensuring a strong data connection: trying both the home Wi-Fi and good 4G signal when linking.
- Using the two-key enrollment method from the handbook (entering the two activation codes as per the manual) .
Has anyone here experienced the same issue with a Polo (or any VW/Audi) and MIB3 head unit? I’ve read that some owners had to contact Volkswagen/WeConnect support and that certain privacy modes must be toggled for this to work . I have not yet contacted the dealer, since I’m hoping it can be fixed without dealer coding. Does the car require any special coding or a dealer-side activation to register the primary user?
I’d really appreciate any advice from this community. If you’ve run into this and solved it, please let me know what you did. Thanks in advance for any tips or steps (coding tricks, dealer activation, etc.) that might help!
Verratet ihr mir bitte, wie ihr das angestellt habt?Ich konnte mit nem Diagnosetool die Ursprünglich VCRN Nummer herausfinden. Diese habe ich dann in der *.bin Datei vom Patch eingefügt und im Anschluss eingespielt. Navi läuft nun wieder.
Hallo someone_01, wenn ich aber auf den Leon mit der Software 1790 die 1940 oder die 1969 versuche aufzuspielen versucht er das zwar erst ohne die Fehlermeldung wie bei Mario , am Schluss sagt das MIB jedoch checksum error. Das gleiche Update bei einem baugleichen Leon der jedoch schon die 1896 drauf hatte ging es ohne Probleme...@Mario Kittenberger
Wie @miouser schon etwas durch die Blume schrieb, egal wer dir das bestätigt hat, das Firmwareupdate ist falsch für das Gerät.
du brauchst eins für ...MQB.... und versuchst eins für ...MQ2... zu installieren, da spuckt der Updater eben....
