Keep in mind that the Cobra firmware does not have the keys burnt in but requires the user to flash them via DeltaFlashLoader (softcam.key format is supported). The big advantage of this approach is that keys can easily be exchanged by users without requiring a firmware update.
8X MTD
MTD > 4X is mainly meant to be used with headends/playoutcenters where PIDs to descramble are manually configurable. 8 channels with 4 PIDs each on average can now be descrambled in parallel. This feature has already extensively been tested by our Dutch friends.
Digital Devices hardware does not allow more than 4 channels to be descrambled in parallel (driver limitation). We are currently negotiating with them to extend it.
Keep in mind that the number of channels that can be descrambled in parallel without glitches also depends on the SmartCard in use. With NDS VideoGuard, it is not advised to go any further than 4X. Enabling NDS FastMode inside the CAM menu might dramatically improve MTD performance.
