Zum Japan Release der PSVita soll noch diese Woche das FW Update 4.0 für die PS3 erscheinen!

A new system software update (v4.00) will be released this week. In preparation for the launch of PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) in Japan, this update will prepare PlayStation 3 (PS3) to serve as a content management device. It will allow users to copy their digital content such as games, music, photos, and videos between PS Vita and PS3, back up PS Vita game games including save data to your PS3 hard drive, and update the system software for your PS Vita system using the network features of your PS3.
Other changes to take effect with this update include:

PlayStation Plus members can now choose to enable or disable each automatic update feature
- Game patches
- System software
- Recommended games and videos
- Sync trophy information
New PlayStation Network settings for filtering friend requests and messages

Sony: Neue PS3-Firmware 4.00 im Anmarsch

Sony plant für diese Woche das Update der Playstation 3-Firmware auf die Version 4.0. Dieses dient vor allem zur Vorbereitung auf die Zusammenarbeit mit der neuen Handheld-Konsole PS Vita, die Zugriff auf Inhalte von der PS3 erhalten soll und für Updates und Backups der PS Vita genutzt werden kann. Playstation Plus-Nutzer können ausserdem verschiedene Auto-Updates ein- und aussstellen und für Mitteilungen zwischen PSN-Nutzern gibt es neue Privatsphäre-Einstellungen.

Hier noch ein paar Funktionen der 4.0 die nicht im Offiziellen Changelog stehen:

- Delete PS Vita System’s Backup Files
The PlayStation Vita allows you to back up its data on the PS3. For those who wish to delete the backup data, it can easily be done by going to the System Settings.
- PlayStation Plus Icon Now on XMB
Players can now easily access the PlayStation Plus section of the PlayStation Store via the XMB.
- Privacy Settings has been added
To further enhance the privacy of its users, players can now choose whether or not they want to receive a friend request or friend message from someone they don’t know. Your settings here will also affect your profile on the Vita.
- PS Vita System Application Utility
A folder on the XMB under the Game Menu will be available for those who buys PS Vita applications on the PlayStation Store.
- Health Warning on Start-Up Screen
You can now expect to see a short Health Warning right after the PS3 logo shows up. For gamers who has an epilepsy, read up!
- Remote Play Settings on the Vita
Similar to the PSP, the PlayStation Vita can also do Remote Play. This can be accessed on the Remote Play Settings.
- UK English Language Support
You can now choose the UK English language option under the menu.

User berichten das es nach dem Update 4.0 zu Systemabstürzen kommt!

"I updated to 4.0 and now when I fastforward time then enter a building in skyrim it freezes the system."

"I'm having the same issue. I have formatted the PS3 twice now, but it hasn't gotten any better. Quite frustrating."

"Same problem here. Skyrim was a little buggy before but now it is almost unplayable. Constantly freezes and forces me to hard reset my PS3 which procedes to lecture me about not shutting it off properly. I don't know what they did but it is extremely frustrating."

Da wird es vermutlich bald ein weiters update geben, da es anscheinend mehrere Games betrifft!

PS3: Technische Probleme nach Installation der neuen Firmware?

Vor drei Tagen hat der Elektronikriese Sony die neuste Firmware für die Playstation 3 als Download verfügbar gemacht. Jetzt beklagen zahlreiche Nutzer technische Probleme mit ihren Spielkonsolen

In zahlreichen Foren und Blogs beklagen Spieler derzeit unkontrollierte Abstürze bestimmter Titel, wie beispielsweise "Modern Warfare 3", "Dark Souls" oder "Skyrim". Weiterhin gebe es regelmäßig Synchronisierungsprobleme zwischen der Playstation 3 und den Controllern. Einige Gamer melden, dass sie Inhalte aus dem PSN nicht installieren könnten. Sony hat sich bislang noch nicht offiziell zu den Beschwerden geäußert

Hier hab ich bis jetzt noch keine Abstürtze oder so gehabt mit der neuen Firm, habe aber auch diese 3 Spiele nicht "Modern Warfare 3", "Dark Souls" oder "Skyrim".
