Support Audi A4 B9 2017 Kessy(retrofit) help

Hello everyone,
I’m new into these forums,I hope I’ve found the right section to post this.
I’ve seen @sandman01xda post for retrofitting KESSY(his explanation was amazing however I got stuck exactly at what he didn’t show in his topic) .I have done everything step by step but I came to a dead end with dataset dump as I’ve never done that.I have VCP and VCDS is my hands but I’m not familiar with what I should do.Is it possible if someone could help me step by step or with some easy explanation on how to do that?

May I repeat what you have done so far,

• You have installed the sensor elements so far and done the electrical wiring to the control unit
• you have coded the mentioned bits

now you like to "dump" a dataset? Is this possible?
If so, pleas share how, because ODIS & VCDS can't as far as I know.
This is also the Risky part of this retrofit, because I cannot switch back to the intitial dataset if something goes wrong, the only way I know but did not test is a online access and resetting the control unit via ODIS online session, or go to your dealer and let him do a reset.

So let me explain, a bit what I did.
I searched around and asked in many forums for a dataset, and a guy in a russia forum was so kind to give me a dataset for my control unit to flash via ODIS
after a cupple of day I was ready to flash it via ODIS and pray that it will not fail because of the situation I mentioned above

My luck even avter flashing the dataset (everithing els was prepaired before) it instantly works as expected.
And now I never wannt to miss that feature

I dont know if my dataset will work on your control unit as well so thats the reason why I do not share it in the instruction

Yes,you’re right.I’ve done everything except dataset dump .I can give you my bcm2 module OE number to check if they are the same so I could try with your dataset ? If someone else could help me with preparing dataset for my car I could contact him too? Can you show me steps of dumping it via Odis since I’ve never worked with Odis and I have 0 experience with it ,I’ve been using only VCDS.

Did you also changed the BCM ? Which Partnumber is on the ECU because Model Year are some ECU which wil not support KEssy and you need to replace the BCM...

I’ve checked it,it supports it 100%.

Sorry for late reply I was on a vacation .I found this dongle on the internet and I was wondering if it could do the work for me?

Is this going to do all the work ,is it going to do that “dataset dump” automatically and solve all my programming issues or I will still have to use Odis/vcp? I suggest it just does the coding I already did with VCDS but it won’t adapt my bcm2(do the dataset dump)?
Audi was officially partnering with KUFATEC until late 2024 ,so it must be kind of “OEM” dongle ?

Forget this overpriced garbage dongle. You also never know what it changes. Its best practice to code all manually. And no, this dongle is far from OEM or original, or anything that Audi would ever use.
You'll still need to use ODIS/VCP. Its better to do that way anyways.

Well as far as I know when I owned A4 B8 back in time,my local Audi dealership offered me reverse camera retrofit kit and it was KUFATEC package with all the wiring,camera itself and same dongle .When i asked them is this legit Audi kit they said that Audi has partnership with KUFATEC and all their retrofit kits are provided by KUFATEC.Also latest ETKA offers KUFATEC retrofit kits itself ?

I agree coding it manually is the best way but no one could provide me the exact dataset for my car,that’s why I’m searching for alternatives…

Kufatec PARTS are original Audi. The DONGLE is not. Its far from anything VAG would ever offer.

The dongle doesn’t do any dataset stuff.
