If I am just updating maps, do I need to use mib toolkit to patch ifs-root-stage2?

This car has everything from factory, just want updated maps.

Create a M.I.B backup and share with me.
Most likely your map Fec is limited to a certain map year and newer maps can not be installed.

Hello again. I am finally trying to install MIB on a 2020 718 gt4 to get the backup.

I got up to this point

I understand that I should press cancel. Afterwards MIB should be installed.

my next step would be to access the green menu? Do I need the SD card in SD1 with MIB toolbox?

Du könntest auch einfach deine aktuelle FW Patchen.
MHI2_ER_POG11_P3299 wird von M.I.B unterstützt.

Update ansonsten auf MHI2_ER_POG11_K5126_MU1394 möglich.

Interesting, I have MHI2_US_POG11_P5186 on a MY21 718. I have to reread this thread and a few others, but it sounds like I should send in this "extended backup" so that others can create an updated model patch.

I have now installed MIB 2.7.4 in GEM.

I've already done an advanced backup. I have to share it somewhere, but I don't know where yet.

I wanted to install NAV, Carplay and Android Auto.

If you want to have a quick solution, you can rename the patch for:

Folder: MHI2_US_POG11_P5177_MU1453_PATCH --> MHI2_US_POG11_P5186_MU1476_PATCH
Filename: MU1453-ifs-root-part2-0x00ba0000-3005F400.ifs --> MU1476-ifs-root-part2-0x00ba0000-3005F400.ifs

ifs-root-stage2 stayed the same between FWs
