Connect to your receiver in LAN (or WLAN) (you must know ip).
Then:
-Control your receiver via PC.
-Input text typed via PC keyboard on screens with single-character input.

To block connection from this application to your receiver, try blocking the 32773 port on your router/switch , where your Ariva is connected.

Ariva operating tool for your PC. Need to install the JRE (Java) in the system.* You have to know the ip Ariva. The key layout modeled on the RCU650. You can enter text entered via the computer keyboard on the screen where the characters entered individually (channel search youtube). Polish characters do not work with this implementation. Not all models are supported Ariva.*

Works also with Linux. Start the exe with your jre. For example:

/usr/java/jre1.7.0_11/bin/java -jar ArivaControl.exe

Basically this programm sends commands like "key0" "epg" or "info" to Port udp/32773 of the designated ip-address.
For example
$ echo -n info | nc6 -u 192.168.1.100 32773

Room for improvement: Send "MOBILE_SCAN" to the broadcast-adress of your lan. Look who is answering to find ariva devices
automatically on your lan. So the user didn't have to know about the ip-address of the ariva-device.
