Apple hat eine Beta-Version des iCloud Control Panel 2.0 für Windows an Entwickler verteilt. Diese enthält einige praktische Erweiterungen.

Mit dem neuen iCloud Control Panel wird eine neue Funktion der iCloud auch unter Windows Einzug halten. Das Photo-Sharing. Wie bereits mit iPhoto für iOS und ab Herbst unter iOS ist es möglich, Fotos aus dem Photo-Stream mit anderen zu teilen. Der iCloud Photo-Stream erhalt so ein zusätzliches, von vielen Anwender seit dem Start des Dienstes gewünschtes Feature.

Weiterhin wurde mit dem Update an der Integration gearbeitet. So kann in Outlook mit der neuen Version direkt auf Einladungen aus geteilten Kalendern geantwortet werden. Insgesamt wurde an der Synchronisierung von iCloud Kalendern, Kontakten und Erinnerungen gearbeitet, um eine reibungslose Zusammenarbeit auch auf der Windows-Plattform zu gewährleisten. Die Voraussetzungen für das iCloud Control Panel sind: Microsoft windows Vista ab SP2 oder Windows 7,Safari 5.1.1 oder Internet Explorer 8, sowie Outlook 2007 für die Integration.
Ein Veröffentlichungstermin für das iCloud Control Panel 2.0 ist noch nicht bekannt.

Apple has seeded iCloud Control Panel 2.0 for Windows to developers, and it adds a series of important enhancements for iCloud users with PCs. Here are the new features:

• Shared Photo Stream support
• The ability to create or respond to shared calendar invitations directly in Outlook
• Improved event invitation behavior
• Built-in calendar notifications
• Resolves an issue where adding a reminder to an event would cause an inaccurate alert
• Improved reliability with iCloud Contacts, Calendars, and Reminders (known as “Tasks” in Outlook)
• Added ability to access iCloud.com from the Windows Start menu and iCloud Control Panel

As you can tell, this is a major iCloud update for PC users, bringing the software up to speed with what Mac and iOS users will receive in the fall.

What’s new:
This seed build of iCloud Control Panel 2.0 includes:

• Outlook 2007 or 2010 or later (recommended for Contacts and Calendar)

• Shared Photo streams: For this seed, you can only share with other seed participants or developers with access to the iOS 6 Developer Preview.
